a member of Parliament, Qusay Abbas, revealed, on Thursday, that the budget included paragraphs that were not voted upon in the Council and that paragraphs were filled with deals between the blocs.
Abbas said, "The 2021 budget is the strangest budgets in the history of Iraq, and it has many problems when it comes from the government to parliament," noting that "most of the parliamentarians, when voting on the budget, were not aware of the details of the tables attached to the budget."
"In a dangerous precedent, Parliament was surprised to vote on a budget with variables in some items and paragraphs, and some paragraphs are stuffed with deals between some blocs, while most MPs were not aware of adding these paragraphs, so this budget has become completely irresponsible," he said.
Abbas added, "Some of the paragraphs published in the (Al-Waqa'iq Al-Iraqiya) newspaper did not vote on them in the session approving the budget, and this matter increased the lack of confidence," stressing the need for the government to assume its responsibility for what happened in the publication of (the facts) of paragraphs Not voted on in Parliament. "
