The Director General of the Iranian Ilam Province Customs, Ruhollah Ghulami, announced, on Saturday (April 24, 2021), the export of goods worth 53 million 36 thousand and 336 dollars to Iraq through the international outlets of Mehran last month .
Gholami said that this quantity of goods weighed more than 183 thousand and 648 tons .
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted the Director General of Customs in Ilam as saying that the export of agricultural products such as watermelon, apples, oranges and tomatoes, weighing 39 thousand tons and worth 10 million and 29 thousand dollars, came from the borders of Mehran last month .
Referring to the export of agricultural products from the international outlets of Mehran during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2020), Gholami said that more than 125 thousand tons of various agricultural products (summer crops) worth 55 million and 687 thousand dollars were exported from Mahran ports to Iraq .
Concerning transit shipments, Gholami confirmed that one thousand and 726 transit shipments entered Iraq from the international ports of Mehran during this period .
The Director General of Ilam Governorate Customs added that one million and 60 thousand tons of goods worth 553 million dollars were exported to Iraq, including iron, tiles, ceramics, plastics, vegetables, iron ore and petrochemical products .
Gholami explained that the Mehran International Trade Crossing for the export of goods to Iraq is still open and continues to operate despite the suspension of passenger movement at these borders due to "Corona".
