Earth News/ Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, expressed today, Thursday, his fear of the “collapse” of the political process, while calling on Britain to play a positive role in the relationship between the Iraqi components.
A statement by the media office of the head of the State of Law coalition stated to Earth News, "Al-Maliki received in his office today, the British ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson Richardson, and they discussed developments in the political situation and the ongoing dialogues in order to form a government, as well as the effects of the Ukrainian-Russian crisis on the overall international situation, especially Economic situation".
Al-Maliki stressed, according to the statement, "the extent of the depth of the friendly relations between Iraq and Britain and the desire to develop them in various fields," noting that "the political situation in the country is still suffering from a state of political blockage in light of the presence of external interference, which is at its worst, and all countries should stay away from interference." in the internal affairs of Iraq, and for Britain to remain neutral and to play a positive role in the relationship between the components.”
Al-Maliki indicated that “the upcoming parliament session is crucial in terms of forming the government,” explaining that “the coordinating framework and its allies adhere to the constitutional and legal frameworks in its formation (the guarantor third), which we will make as a basis for achieving stability and preserving the political process from collapse.”
In turn, the British ambassador expressed, according to the statement, "his country's keenness to strengthen and develop bilateral relations with Iraq, and Britain's support for a comprehensive Iraqi government in which all parties participate."
