Defense Minister Jumaa Enad Saadoun and his Danish counterpart Morten Podskov discussed, on Monday, joint cooperation in the military and technical fields.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Minister of Defense Jumaa Inad Saadoun received today his Danish counterpart Morten Podskov and a high-level delegation that includes the Danish Chief of Staff, Deputy Secretary-General and Danish Ambassador to Iraq Stig Paulo."
The statement added that "during the meeting, which was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Secretary-General and senior officers of the Ministry of Defense, they discussed bilateral relations and means of joint cooperation in a number of military, technical and other fields to achieve the interests of the two countries."
The Danish Minister of Defense expressed his appreciation for the sacrifices made by the sons of Iraq in their battles against terrorism and the challenges facing Iraq, stressing "the commitment of the international coalition to support the Iraqi armed forces in their war against terrorism, and the continuation of cooperation in order to stand in the face of terrorism that poses a threat not only to Iraq, but also for the whole world."
