Baghdad / Obelisk: A video clip showed the tuk-tuk vehicles transporting the demonstrators to the headquarters of the Iraqi parliament inside the Green Zone. According to the clip, the price of one person is 500 dinars fortune-teller, while parliamentary sources revealed, on Sunday, July 31, 2022, parliamentary movements accompanied by requests to the Presidency of Parliament, to transfer the sessions of the House of Representatives to the Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region, due to the sit-in of the Sadrist movement’s supporters in the building.
A member of the Victory Coalition, Raqiah Abdel-Jabbar, indicated that "there is no provision in the law or the constitution that prevents the parliament from holding sessions outside the current parliament headquarters."
She added that the framework is seriously considering holding its sessions after exhausting all efforts to calm the situation, noting that "there is an intention to hold a parliament session in another governorate if it is not possible to hold it in the current parliament."
On Sunday, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, called on the political parties in Iraq to come to Erbil and start an open dialogue to solve the political problems and crises that the country is going through.
Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi said, in a statement to Al-Masala, that the Speaker of the House of Representatives has the authority to transfer parliament sessions in any Iraqi governorate and in the region’s governorates in reference to Article 21 of the Parliament’s internal system, which said Parliament sessions are held in Baghdad and can be held in other places when necessary.
He added that the sign can be held in other places, where the word places in it means inclusion of all provinces, even the provinces of the Kurdistan region, which can be held when necessary in any province other than Baghdad.
And demanded the Secretary-General of the United Party for Iraq, Osama al-Nujaifi, to hold an emergency session of the deputies, change the election law and switch the commission.
Al-Nujaifi said in a tweet on Twitter, "The return to the people is achieved by holding an emergency session of the House of Representatives, the task of which is to reconsider the election law, change the commission, and set a date for early elections."
Last Saturday, Al-Khadra witnessed a busy day after supporters of the Sadrist movement stormed the region, specifically the parliament headquarters, announcing the open sit-in, in a new, more dangerous stage in the political crisis that the country has been experiencing for more than 10 months.
