    Alsumaria News - Politics Discussions

    were held in the Iraqi parliament today, Wednesday, between the heads of the Iraqi parliamentary blocs and the Jordanian parliamentary delegation, on ways to strengthen bilateral relations, parliamentary diplomacy, cooperation and joint coordination between the two parliaments.


    The media office of the Speaker of Parliament said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that the latter "received today, Wednesday, his Jordanian counterpart Ahmed Safadi and his accompanying delegation in the parliament building, where discussions were held on ways to strengthen bilateral relations, parliamentary diplomacy, cooperation and joint coordination between the two parliaments."





     
    Al-Halbousi welcomed the "visiting delegation," pointing to "the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries, and the importance of strengthening the bonds of cooperation, in order to proceed with practical steps that reflect the reality of the two brotherly peoples."
     
    The Speaker of Parliament stressed "the importance of working at the level of the two parliaments to unify visions and activate agreements between the two countries, and to continue cooperation at the level of the Arab, Asian and Islamic parliaments and the International Parliamentary Union to adopt common issues," referring to "the priority of the Palestinian cause and the supportive position of Iraq and Jordan."

     
    Al-Halbousi added, "The House of Representatives supports the outcomes of the tripartite summit and the bilateral agreements between the two countries in the security, industrial, commercial and energy sectors, and the importance of achieving electrical interconnection and extending the oil pipeline to the port of Aqaba, to increase national revenues and the multiplicity of export outlets." He also appreciated the support of the Kingdom and His Majesty King Abdullah II. Iraq in facing challenges, strengthening bilateral work ties, and cooperation in all fields.
     
    On the other hand, the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament expressed their pride in the success of the work of the second session of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership between the two countries in seeking to provide all capabilities to support Iraq's security and stability," stressing "the importance of strengthening the steps of tripartite cooperation between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq and the economic projects that were agreed upon." .
     
    Al-Safadi stressed, "The need for the two parliaments to work with more coordination and cooperation, and to advance the legislative roles in supporting the efforts of the two countries towards strengthening all forms of joint cooperation; in order to achieve economic integration," noting that "his country, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, supports the Iraqi government and people in all fields and levels." ".

    In conclusion, the discussions emphasized the importance of the contact of the concerned permanent committees in both chambers, as well as the formation of a joint committee between the two parliaments. To overcome the obstacles that could stand in the way of implementing the agreements and in the interest of the two brotherly countries, according to the statement.
