Today, Thursday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed that next week is the deadline for transferring the 2023 budget to parliament.
Committee member Mueen Al-Kazemi said, "There are final touches on the draft budget law by the Council of Ministers," pointing out that "next week is the date for approving the budget within the Council of Ministers and transferring it to the House of Representatives."
Al-Kazemi added, “Next week is the deadline for transferring the 2023 budget, and the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives will study this draft in terms of operational, investment, and revenues, which will amount to approximately one hundred and thirty-five trillion oil revenues, in addition to collection and deficit from one hundred and fifty to one hundred and sixty trillion.” ".
He pointed out, "There is seriousness from the House of Representatives to approve it during the month of March, or it may extend to half of next April."
Al-Kadhimi continued, "During the review of the budget by the House of Representatives, that is, the Finance Committee, there must be a presence of representatives from the Ministries of Planning and Finance and even representatives from other ministries to get acquainted with their implementation plans in the investment aspect of the governorates and the development of regions for the governorates and ministries as well."
He pointed out that "the involvement of representatives of the government in reviewing the draft law in the House of Representatives is an important and essential thing to bring points of view closer, to clarify matters and to shorten the time."
