A member of the State of Law Coalition, Kazem Al-Haidari, confirmed that America is trying to improve its image with the Iraqi people after it stopped its projects for the past 20 years, pointing out that the crisis in Washington prompted it to go to Iraq again.
Al-Haidari said in a press interview, seen by Taqaddam, that "America is currently living through a difficult situation from the economic side, especially after the Russian-Ukrainian war, the rise in oil prices, and the high crisis left by that war."
He added, "America has worked during the past 20 years to stand against projects in Iraq, especially with regard to infrastructure, and it is expected that it will work during the coming period to try to replace the negative perception generated towards it."
And he indicated that “America is currently in a critical corner at a time when Iraq was able to play its leading role, as well as the recovery of its oil market by exporting large quantities to various countries as well as gas projects. Therefore, it is certain that America has become before two options: either it stands against Iraq in a position of reluctance against his projects, and he will harm them in the first place or work to improve their image during the next stage.”
