The Parliament's Legal Committee stated that there are laws of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council that need to be repealed and changed in line with the current stage.
The deputy head of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Mortada Al-Saadi, told Al-Sabah: “The committee has many laws from the previous parliamentary sessions, and after the elections for the parliamentary committees took place and were named, the committee received - among the accumulated laws - laws belonging to the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council.” which should be abolished or amended in accordance with the current stage.
He explained that "the laws are of two types; a type that arrives from the government and a type proposed by a legislative law submitted by 10 deputies for amendment," noting that "the government had a point of view that laws with a financial aspect only stop their legislation and work continues with laws with priorities, and there are many important laws such as (The retirement law), which we are trying to pass in the next stage.”
He pointed out that "there are many laws, including the (general amnesty) law, and there are many discussions about them, and the committee is moving towards addressing most of the priority laws, especially as we are on the verge of enacting the (Budget) and (Federal Court) law, which are among the important laws that must be accomplished." To be used to serve the common good.”
