A member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Aref Al-Hamami, confirmed today, Sunday, that the approval of the oil and gas law has become mandatory.
Al-Hamami said, "The oil and gas law was agreed upon politically before the government's approval, as the state administration coalition agreed in principle to approve the oil and gas law, in addition to the decision of the Federal Court and the International Court of Arbitration not to deliver any amount to the Kurdistan region."
Al-Hamami added, in an interview with the official news agency, that "the central government and the region are obligated to approve the oil and gas law, and it is hoped to start discussing it after the budget."
