The Prime Minister directs to expedite the completion of lagging projects

Yesterday, Sunday, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, visited the People's General Hospital project on the Rusafa side of the capital, Baghdad, and was briefed on the development of the completion stages of the project, which is considered one of the lagging projects, as work began on it in 2013, and it was suspended for several years.
A statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office stated that Al-Sudani chaired a meeting at the project site, in the presence of the Minister of Health, the Governor of Baghdad, the resident engineer, and representatives of the executing company, to discuss the project's conditions, identify the most prominent problems facing it, and instruct them to be addressed.
Mr. Al-Sudani stressed not to make adherence to the instructions a justification for obstructing achievement, and an outlet for the sustainability of corruption, through the reluctance of projects, directing to hold a meeting this week under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health and the membership of the governor, and officials from the Ministry of Planning, to resolve all belongings and spare orders for the People’s General Hospital project and the rest of the lagging hospitals, To enter service as soon as possible. He also directed the necessity of adhering to the timings related to implementation, and that representatives of the Ministry of Health be present in the project throughout the day, to follow up on the smallest details in it, assuring the executing company that he would personally follow up the timelines for the completion stages.
Al-Sudani instructed the follow-up team to submit urgent reports on the causes of delays and stops in the important joints of the projects, in order to find solutions, push work towards progress, and take the necessary recommendations that require quick decisions in their regard. The Prime Minister toured the specialized hospital wards consisting of several floors, as well as the consulting clinic, radiology, laboratories, dialysis ward and physiotherapy, and identified the paragraphs that need urgent approvals and solutions, directing the removal of routine obstacles and taking the necessary measures to complete the hospital. The hospital's work is witnessing a total completion rate of more than 70 percent after the resumption of work in it, based on the continuous directives of the Prime Minister in addressing the file of lagging hospital projects, which have been given priority in the government program and service delivery plans.
