The Prime Minister directs the completion of electricity maintenance projects

Yesterday, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Electricity in Baghdad. To follow up on the progress of work on the Ministry’s projects and its preparations to meet the increasing demand for electrical energy next summer.
A statement from his media office stated that the Prime Minister reviewed the plans and programs drawn up, and the maintenance and expansion plans being implemented by the international companies GE and Siemens.
Al-Sudani chaired a meeting that included agents, advisors, and general directors in the ministry, during which the ministry’s overall procedures, data and figures related to collection, expected future loads, and steps taken to confront the increase and symptoms of load and bottlenecks in the national electrical network were reviewed.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of making the preparation and provision of electrical energy a service priority and a criterion for evaluating the performance of employees in the Ministry of Electricity. He also renewed his previous directives on the necessity of investigating the soundness of procedures for contracts and accrediting reputable companies, in a way that meets the ambition of citizens to receive continuous service and continuous provision of electrical energy.
He followed the Ministry's procedures regarding clean and renewable energy projects, and proceeded with the implementation of contracts for the expansion and development of this sector.
