He called on "other sectoral bodies, civil society organizations and international organizations to participate in this important event," noting that "on February 2 of each year, the world celebrates World Wetlands Day ( WWD ) with the aim of raising awareness of the great importance that wetlands represent in human life." And its vital functions for planet Earth.”
He pointed out that "this International Day is also an occasion to commemorate the signing of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971."
Amedi continued, “The term wetlands is a comprehensive and very important term, especially in the current environmental conditions that Iraq is going through, resulting from water scarcity, climate change, natural systems, and biodiversity.
