The temporary Chargé d'Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the State of Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, discussed with the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Raid, on Tuesday, joint economic cooperation between the two countries.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, said: “The temporary Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the State of Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, met with the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Raid.”
The statement added, "During the meeting, aspects of joint economic cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the State of Libya were discussed, and Al-Sahhaf expressed Iraq's desire for economic and commercial investment and the creation of common spaces between the chambers of commerce in the two countries and the extent of the possibility of creating economic opportunities that serve common interests, stressing the importance of facilitating Granting travel privileges to businessmen and investors from the two brotherly countries.
The statement continued, "Al-Raid expressed his desire to develop economic relations between the two countries, indicating the presence of a serious will by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce for economic cooperation and facilitating investment opportunities for Iraqi businessmen in Libya, stressing his readiness to visit Iraq and participate in the Arab Labor Conference hosted by Baghdad."
