Trump: Clinton Could ‘Shoot Somebody’ And Not Be Prosecuted

Donald Trump said Friday Hillary Clinton could “shoot somebody” in public and not be prosecuted for it — a comment similar to one the Republican presidential nominee made about himself during the primaries.
Trump’s comment about Clinton came as he was discussing his Democratic rival’s use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state, and the FBI’s decision not to prosecute her after conducting an investigation into the matter.

“She’s being so protected. She could walk into this arena right now and shoot somebody with 20,000 people watching,” Trump said, creating a pistol gesture with his hand, “right smack in the middle of the heart and she wouldn’t be prosecuted, OK?”
Trump delivered the line, which was not in his prepared remarks, during a speech at a rally in Pensacola, Florida, in a venue with a maximum capacity of 10,000 occupants, according to CNN. Trump’s comment was reminiscent of a statement he made earlier in the year, when he suggested he could shoot somebody and not lose any supporters.
“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters,” he said during a January campaign rally in Iowa.
During the Friday night speech, Trump slammed Clinton for being a “corrupt” politician — a refrain the brash billionaire offered supporters who shouted “Lock her up! Lock her up!” back at him.
“The only thing she’s done well — and she’ll go down in history for it, I have to admit — is getting out of trouble with the emails,” Trump told the energetic rally-goers. “That’s the single greatest achievement of Hillary Clinton.”
