    Twilight News Afghan officials / said that a suicide bombing near the US embassy in Kabul on Wednesday, killing four people and wounding at least 22 in an attack on the armored personnel carriers used by the firm support mission led by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

    The explosion occurred in the convoy during the morning rush hour in one of the busiest areas in Kabul. Public health officials in the capital, said four people were killed and 22 wounded at least.

    There were no immediate reports of whether there were casualties among the foreign forces in the attack, which targeted a group of soldiers armored personnel carriers manufactured to withstand large-scale bombings.

    But the blast, which security officials at the scene said it was a suicide attack, also destroyed a number of nearby civilian vehicles or caused them serious damage.

    The attack comes after a threat from the Taliban to target foreign troops during the spring offensive, which started last week.

    Witnesses said that he could see traces of blood and clothes on the ground at the site of the explosion. The television stations in Kabul said earlier that at least three people were dead.

    There was no immediate comment from the NATO mission in the capital.
