Trump appoints "Jerome Powell" as chairman of the US Federal Reserve

US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced the appointment of Jerome Powell as president of the US central bank.
Powell, who must be approved by Congress, replaces current President Janet Yalin, whose term expires in February.
Trump said Powell was "strong, committed and intelligent," and had the "wisdom and leadership to guide the US economy.
