    CBI Governor from Geneva: Iraq plans to issue bonds in local currency debt

    The governor of the Central Bank and the Agency Abdel Basset Turki on the sidelines of the Geneva Conference, on Sunday, that “Iraq plans to issue bonds in local currency for the first time in Iraq since the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime,” according to Reuters Mazkrt in its report.

    Turkish predicted that “the first issue worth 3 billion Iraqi dinars and this is the first time in which to issue such bonds for monetary policy rather than for funding.”

    Interesting, lets see who buys them and if they sell all of them.... it will accelerate the  economy's growth  and it will most definitely force the cbi to buy back the currency at a faster rate which ought to put upward pressure on the dinar value.

    The only real issue now is WHEN?  If I see "2 weeks", or "soon", or, or I will probably shoot myself.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that it happens relatively soon and with the impact of the tariffs, should be good for us IMO.
