Al-Bayati: The burning of wheat fields is aimed at igniting a national war in the disputed areas

The Secretary-General of the Islamic Union of Turkmen Jassim al-Bayati, on Saturday, the repercussions of continuing fires in the fields of wheat and barley in the disputed areas, indicating that those fires aimed to ignite a national and sectarian war in those areas.
Al-Bayati said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah that "the ongoing fires in the wheat fields, especially in the disputed areas, are threatening a great crisis and reveal a plot to stir national and sectarian strife."
"The continuation of these fires in the disputed areas could ignite a national and sectarian war because of the conflict on agricultural land between the Turkomans, Arabs and Kurds in those areas," he said.
Al-Bayati called on the federal government to "immediately strengthen security in the disputed areas and compensate all those affected by the amounts allocated to receive the wheat crop to ease the tension and defuse the crisis."
