The United States called on Friday to protect demonstrators, journalists and protesters in Iraq from assassinations and violence.
"The United States has repeatedly called for serious steps to be taken to protect demonstrators, journalists, and civil society activists from assassinations and violence by armed groups," the US embassy said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
The statement added, "The United States continues to demand investigations and full accountability for the perpetrators of these acts."
