The British Financial Times newspaper said, in a report it published on Sunday, that Baghdad had facilitated the opening of communication channels between Iran and Jordan.
The newspaper quoted officials it described as insiders, that Iraq also facilitated the opening of channels between Iran and Egypt as well.
She indicated that high-ranking officials from Saudi Arabia and Iran held direct talks in an attempt to repair relations after 4 years of cutting diplomatic ties.
According to reports published by the newspaper, the first round of Saudi-Iranian talks took place in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on April 9, and included discussions about the Houthi attacks on the Kingdom.
The sources described the talks as "positive", stressing that it was agreed to hold a new round next week.
However, the British newspaper said that a high-ranking Saudi official denied the existence of any talks between his country and Iran.
