The Border Ports Authority revealed today, Saturday, the number of Iranian visitors who entered Iraq to perform the Arbaeen visit.
The head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Al-Waeli, told the official news agency, followed by "Mawazine News", that "the mechanism for entering visitors through the border crossings was approved within the higher security plan headed by the Minister of Interior," noting that "the procedures are going according to the mechanism that was established through an inspection. All incoming visitors, as well as the passports stamp, and no visitor is allowed to pass except with an official approved document that enters the passport system and the Iraqi (Baiz) system, and then conduct the process of grouping them to the holy governorate of Karbala. It affects the health and safety of visitors, and we also call on them to abide by the numbers established between the two sides as stipulated in the Iraqi-Iranian security agreement,” noting that “the number of Iranian visitors who entered through the border crossings amounted to two million visitors, so this issue needs to be studied well.”
He pointed out that "there is high coordination between the Border Ports Authority, the Ministry of Interior, the joint leaderships and the governorates."
