, Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, announced today, Saturday, the plan to invest "1100 mm" of associated gas, in addition to developing the Mansourieh and Akkas fields.
Abdul Ghani said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "the ministry pays great attention to investing the gas associated with oil operations, and working to stop burning it, up to the stage (zero-burned gas)," noting that "the expected quantities to be added to the national production from Associated gas investment projects amounting to more than 1,100 cubic feet per day within the next few years.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil said, during his visit to the South Gas Company and his meeting with the general manager and the engineering and technical staff in the company, that "the ministry has concluded a number of gas investment projects contracts, including the contract signed with the French company Total, which includes gas investment in the Artawi field and a number of Of the other Basra governorate fields with a capacity of 600 Maqmaq, which is one of the most promising fields for the production and investment of gas, and the second project is the gas investment project in the Al-Gharraf and Nasiriyah fields with a capacity of (200-250) Maqmaq, and it is one of the projects that signed a contract with an international company, and good ratios were implemented of the project,” noting that “it is hoped that it will be completed within a year, in addition to investing gas in the Halfaya field in Maysan Governorate with a capacity of (250-300) mqmq. He added that "the next six months will witness the addition of quantities of invested gas to the national production," noting that "the ministry is also working on investing the Akkas field, which contains free gas in Anbar Governorate, and we are also seeking to obtain the government's approval to activate the Mansouriya gas field contract in the province."
