A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Al-Aboudi visited the University of Basra in the presence of the Governor of Basra, Asaad Abdul-Amir Al-Eidani, a number of deputies, the Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs and the Director General of Studies, Planning and Follow-up."
The Minister of Education said, according to the statement, that “the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is continuing to support and complete infrastructure projects for educational institutions and harness all possible efforts and energies to upgrade universities and apply quality assurance standards to enable university institutions to fulfill their mission in meeting the needs of society and the labor market.”
He stressed the importance of linking universities to the productive sectors, community service, developing the scientific and research environment, and contributing to solving problems that hinder development paths.
He explained, "There are well-thought-out plans and decisions to improve the scientific environment in line with modern academic and educational programmes," pointing to "a qualitative achievement represented in the decision to adopt the Bologna path, which paves the way for completing all quality and academic accreditation requirements.”
The Minister of Education stressed on "promoting the culture of productivity," calling universities on "state institutions to benefit from and apply scientific research and studies to achieve the highest level of indicators of sustainable development, praising the educational services undertaken by the University of Basra and its colleges and scientific departments.”
For his part, the President of the University of Basra, Saad Shaheen Hammadi, expressed his welcome to the visit of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi and his accompanying delegation, reviewing at the same time the scientific and research The achievements of the university and its progress in many international classifications and its application of quality assurance standards that enabled it to carry out its mission in meeting the needs of the society.
