Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Commerce issued an explanation regarding the Cabinet's decision to withhold the ration card, specifying the categories covered by the decision.
"The Cabinet's decision to withhold the ration card concerns those who receive a salary of two million dinars or more," said a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Hanoun, in a press statement followed by NRT Arabia.
Hanoun added, "The ministry has prepared books and sent them to the relevant ministries to implement the Prime Minister's decision related to preparing the food basket for families whose salaries are less than two million dinars." His salary is less than two million dinars.
And he continued, "Any merchant registered in the Companies Registrar's Department will be included in the decision to deduct or hold the ration card, and the same applies to doctors, engineers and pharmacists," stressing that "all companies are registered with the department and there is no unregistered company.”
