In addition, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ghulam Muhammad Ishaq, said: “The census ensures that our projects and partnership with the Iraqi government are essential, and access to accurate and comprehensive government statistics enables us to respond quickly to emerging challenges,” stressing that they are “not just numbers but tools.” It enables us to serve the Iraqi people effectively.
Al-Zaman newspaper paid attention to the upcoming visit of the President of the Kurdistan Region to Baghdad and said that the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, intends to make a visit to Baghdad to participate in the state administration meeting, which is scheduled to discuss the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil.
The spokesman for the region’s presidency, Dilshad Shihab, said, “Barzani will visit Baghdad soon to participate in the meeting of the state administration coalition.”
Regarding the region’s parliament elections, Shihab stressed that “holding elections is one of the priorities of the region’s president’s work,”
and continued, “Kurdistan has been harmed on the legal and political levels due to disputes.” Regarding elections and the commission), stressing that (the region’s presidency is in constant contact with all political parties, and preparations should be made to hold parliamentary elections in the region),
and Shehab explained that (the existence of a parliament that truly represents the people is more important than any other issue),
He went on to say that “Barzani stresses the need for there not to be a political vacuum in Kurdistan,”
and pointed out that “the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Erbil is an important indicator of Kurdistan’s relations, its vitality and its influence in the region.”
At the beginning of this month, Barzani made a visit to Baghdad, during which he met with the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, and the Federal Council of Ministers, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani. He also participated in the meeting of the State Administration Coalition and the coordination framework. Ways to resolve the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, the political situation in Iraq and the region, and a group of other issues of common interest were discussed.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Regional Government stated that the Federal Ministry of Oil is trying to hold Erbil responsible for not resuming oil exports, while calling on the Federal Government to comply with the terms of the January agreement and facilitate the resumption of exports.
It said in a statement yesterday, “There is no justification or support in the 2005 Constitution or anywhere else that allows the Federal Ministry of Oil to restrict oil exports,”
and added that “exports are important for the well-being of all people, as well as for the peace and security of the international community,” and the Ministry considered that ( Oil production contracts in the regional government are not approved in any way by the federal government or the Federal Ministry of Oil, because they do not have a valid constitutional and legal basis.
The statement continued, “The legal basis for these contracts is the Oil and Gas Law in the Region of 2007. It was unanimously approved by the Kurdistan Parliament at the time, so that the law was recognized by the world’s leading constitutional and international lawyers.
The spokesman for the federal government, Bassem Al-Awadi, had confirmed that the region’s oil file was more or less settled, and that Turkey had informed Iraq of its readiness to “resume oil exports from Kurdistan to the port of Ceyhan.” Meanwhile,
Barzani confirmed earlier that the martyrdom of students and professors at Salmaniya University and the civilians of Qalaat Diza in an air bombing operation in 1974 strengthened the spirit and will of confrontation and challenge injustice and dictatorship and increased the determination of the people of Kurdistan and their adherence to their cause, demands and legitimate rights.
In a statement yesterday, Barzani recalled (the anniversary of the crime, which he considered a bloody and painful page in the history of the people of Kurdistan), calling for (learning lessons from it and working through unity, cohesion and solidarity to prevent the repetition of that history forever, and to move forward with hope to work towards achieving a better future)./ To[/rtl]
