Scientific symposium on the future vision of the tripartite budget

The Department of Political Systems and Public Policies at the College of Political Science held a scientific symposium on the tripartite budget and policies to revive the Iraqi economy: a future vision, under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Abdel-Jabbar Issa Abdel-Al, and with the participation of a number of teachers and researchers from Iraqi universities.
The symposium, whose sessions were chaired by the head of the department, Professor Dr. Ibtisam Hatem Alwan, aims to evaluate the tripartite budget and clarify the requirements for its advancement to achieve sustainable development.
The symposium highlighted the pros and cons of the tripartite budget of the Iraqi state, and the political impact of the US Federal Bank on the future of the Iraqi economy, providing an accurate analysis in numbers of the tripartite budget (2023-2025).
The symposium touched on the legal challenges facing the development and implementation of tripartite budgets in Iraq, the stages of passing them, and the challenges and opportunities facing Iraq after adopting these budgets.
The symposium came up with a number of recommendations, the most important of which is increasing non-oil revenues, reducing dependence on oil revenues, which constitute more than 90%, and giving attention to investment projects in non-oil sectors.
She stressed the importance of reducing government support for electricity, relying on the privatization of some sectors, and reducing spending in security institutions that take a very large percentage of the budget.
