BAGHDAD / Sky Press: Areej al-Taie
Defence Ministry confirmed on Wednesday for the opening of new routes in the Green Zone and to provide protection to the demonstrators.
The ministry said in a statement received "Sky Press," that "the implementation of the directives of Prime Minister General Commander of the Armed Forces, Dr. Haider al-Abadi and included the opening of new routes in the green area in front of movement of citizens, technical personnel and military completed in collaboration with the Municipality of Baghdad, opened by Abu Nawas bottom of the suspension bridge Jadiriyah direction, if some technical things completed. "
On the other hand confirmed that the leader of the band "the duties of the leadership of the band to provide protection to the demonstrators near the Green Zone and the protection of government property and the headquarters of the Arab and foreign embassies."
The announcement by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi open the "Green Zone" in Baghdad, which is under tight security measures after a series of mass demonstrations in Baghdad.
