The United States cannot at present verify the validity of the leaked documents related to Daesh, a State Department official told Sputnik on Thursday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, reports emerged that thousands of documents identifying 22,000 Daesh supporters in more than 50 countries were leaked to Britain’s Sky News television channel. A former Free Syrian Army convert to Daesh, who called himself Abu Hamed, is said to have handed over the data on a memory stick."We are aware of these reports but are currently unable to confirm the authenticity of these documents," the official said.
