The MP for the National Alliance Ali al-Badiri, on Thursday, a bomb from the "heavy caliber" of the Iraqi economy, pointing to the registration of berths in the ports of Basra names of some of the leaders of the political blocs.
Al-Badairi told Mawazin News that "senior Iraqi politicians are now controlling the wealth and capabilities of the people." He added that "berths in the ports of Basra are registered with the names of political leaders and heads of blocs according to quotas.
He added that "some of these politicians have import companies linked to neighboring countries and deal directly to export their products to Iraq," adding that "they do not have the support of local and national product and manipulation of prices (vegetables and tomato crop) recently was because of them."
He pointed out that "the border ports are wide open to those products and goods and therefore Iraqi money goes indirectly to these whales (officials)."
