The United States welcomed the decision of the Syrian regime, to stop armed attacks on the opposition control of areas in Daraa province, south of the country, for 48 hours.
The US State Department explained in a statement that it will rule on the Syrian regime 's initiative after seeing the results, not only through advertising.
And called on the US Secretary of the Syrian opposition to stop its military operations, to achieve the steadfastness of the ceasefire agreement, and open the way for the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.
The statement stressed that Washington will continue to fight the "Islamic State" (Daesh) and al - Qaeda in Syria on the one hand, and working on reducing the clashes taking place in the country, and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the needy on the other.
It announced the Syrian regime, on Saturday, to stop armed attacks on the opposition control of areas in Daraa province, south of the country, for 48 hours.
A statement issued by the Ministry of defense system that " the army and the leadership of the armed forces (the regime) halted its attacks on the shield for a period of 48 hours starting from 12:00 local time (09:00 GMT)," without elaborating.
It should be noted that the Syrian regime launches June 3 ongoing military operation since the opposition control of areas in the shield.
