Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq’s gas liquids and condensates exports amounted to 59,370 tons and 356,008 cubic meters respectively, in the first half of 2017 (H1-17), oil minister Jabar Ali al-Luaibi revealed on Tuesday.

Al-Luaibi said in a statement that the ministry’s plans to develop the gas sector achieved positive results through raising investments and exports of gas liquids and condensates.

The first half of 2017 witnessed the export of 24 condensates shipments and 24 gas liquids shipments through Basrah Gas Company.

Revenues generated from exporting gas liquids supported the federal treasury.

Earlier, al-Luaibi expected the country’s oil output to reach five million barrels per day, and associated gas production to hit 1.3 billion standard cubic feet by the end of 2017.

Last week, al-Luaibi signed a contract with Baker Hughes, a General Electric company, for a fast track flare gas solution for the al-Nassiriya and al-Gharraf Oilfields, south of Baghdad.

Under the contract, Baker Hughes will develop advanced solutions for flare gas at the al-Nassiriya and al-Gharraf oilfields, using modular gas processing technology developed in United States. The project is expected to be executed in two phases.
