Russia plans to renew contracts under the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, the Russian daily Kommersant reported.
"In our plans to re-sign the contracts signed during Muammar Gaddafi's rule, in particular, those previous agreements were signed by the President of the Republic of Chechnya and the President of the Chechen Republic, Leif Dengov," said the head of the Russian liaison group on the internal settlement in Libya of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the State Duma. On the arms deals between Tripoli and Moscow, Dingov added that Russia adheres to UN Security Council resolutions and does not intend to arm any of the Libyan parties at the expense of the other.

He stressed that Russia's main goal in Libya is reconciliation between all parties to the conflict and the achievement of an internal agreement between the Libyans and a compromise crisis.
