[ltr]MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday he had "every reason to believe that Moscow, along with Damascus, would defeat terrorists in Syria soon," adding that "the Syrian peace process is developing positively despite problems."[/ltr]
[ltr]The Russian president proposed holding a conference for all Syrians, including representatives of all ethnic groups in Syria.[/ltr]
[ltr]"We are concerned about the slow pace of progress in negotiations between the Syrian opposition and the government," he said. "There is a risk that the non-escalation zones will divide Syria, but I hope to avoid that."[/ltr]
[ltr]He also stressed that Moscow and Washington are cooperating in a stable manner on Syria.[/ltr]
[ltr]"Coordinated efforts by Saudi Arabia, Russia and other major oil producers have borne fruit and have led to crude prices above $ 50 a barrel, a level that is fair," Putin said at a forum with scientists.[/ltr]
