Korea's imports of Iranian crude oil reached 1.1 million tons in December, down 30.6 percent from a year ago, preliminary data from the Korea Customs Authority showed.
That is 7.9 million barrels, according to Reuters calculations. South Korea, the world's fifth-largest oil buyer, imported 13.2 million tons of crude last month, unchanged from a year ago, according to data.
The state-run Korea National Oil Company will release final data on South Korea's crude oil imports for December later this month.
