    The General Authority for Taxes announced on Wednesday that the Council of Ministers rejected a proposal to deduct 15% of the salaries of all employees as income tax and to keep these deductions from the nominal salary exclusively, while confirming the non-inclusion of retirees.
    "The income tax for employees is fixed at 15 percent on nominal salary and does not include allowances," said the director of the board, Abbas Ali, in an interview with the state-owned Al-Sabah newspaper.
    "There was a proposal that this percentage of the total salary, but the Council of Ministers did not agree and remained the income tax on what it was previously retired people are not covered by tax deductions."
