An armed man kills four and commits suicide in the US state of Kentucky

Five people were killed in two separate shootings in the northeastern state of Kentucky, officials said. Among the dead was a suspected militant who committed suicide. The police received a call at about 4 pm (local time) for shooting at a country house near Bainsville, about 260 km (260 miles) southeast of Louisville, Kentucky,
according to Reuters , a district police chief.
The officers found two dead there and began searching the area for those who fired, Bryce said in the statement. A second distress call led police to a residential apartment in Bintsville, where three people were found, including the gunman, the statement said.
"I have been working with law enforcement authorities for 34 years and this is one of the most painful acts of violence I've ever seen," Price said.
Officials said the gunman was Joseph Nickel, but no further information was available.
Kentucky police said the dead were Arlen Nickle and James Nickle, the mother and father of the suspect, and killed in the country house. She was also killed in the apartment in Bentzville, Linzi Lanhos, a friend of the suspect and her mother Patricia Fanhos.
The attack comes three weeks after a shooting incident at a high school in Benton, Kentucky, when a student killed two of his colleagues and wounded 18 others and is currently being held.
