Gold continues its decline for the fourth day in a row
Gold prices continued their losses for the fourth consecutive session, hitting a two-week low as the dollar remained supported as investors expected the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates this week.
Spot gold fell 0.2 percent to $ 1310.03 an ounce. The yellow metal fell to $ 1307.51 earlier in the session, the lowest since March 1.
Gold for April delivery fell 0.2 percent to $ 1309.40 an ounce.
With a 25 basis point rise in interest rates almost certain, the focus is on whether policymakers in the council will expect to raise interest rates four times this year rather than three times, according to estimates from the December meeting.
