    [ltr]Cuba's First Vice-President Miguel Diaz Canel was elected President of the Council of State, replacing Raul Castro.[/ltr]
    [ltr]In the course of the National Assembly session, 603 of the 604 deputies voted for the election of Diaz Canel. According to the Constitution of Cuba, the President of the Council of State is the President and the Government of the Republic. He is elected for 5 years.[/ltr]
