Report: US is considering withdrawals from oil stocks

The Wall Street Journal quoted unnamed sources as saying on Friday that the administration of US President Donald Trump was carefully discussing whether to use its emergency oil stockpile to counter rising prices.
The report said that the United States would resort to this solution to face rising prices if Saudi Arabia and OPEC did not pump more crude to help restrain the market.
President Donald Trump has called on Saudi Arabia and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to increase supplies to calm the market and offset any possible shortfall in US sanctions against Iran.
OPEC stabilized last month to increase oil production by one million barrels per day.
OPEC's monthly report showed OPEC production rose by 173.4 thousand bpd to 32.327 million bpd led by Saudi Arabia.
