The Chamber of Deputies on Sunday denied reports that the head of parliament, Mohamed Halboussi, was dismissed from the director of the Finance Department, Riad Korkis, for refusing to spend 120 million dinars for the rehabilitation of the president's guesthouse.
"Some local news sites and pages in the social networking site (Facebook) circulated a news story about Mohamed al-Halbusi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, dismissing Riad Korkis, Director General of the Finance Department in the Council, for refusing to release the sum of money," the Information Service of the House of Representatives said in a statement. 120 million dinars for the rehabilitation of the guesthouse President of the Council. The statement added that "this news is completely untrue because the Director General of the Department of Finance was referred to retirement at his request and for poor health after the end of the extension of his duties after reaching the legal age and we have all the documents that prove it."
