WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump has said he would not rule out answering questions about the so-called "Russian intervention" in the 2016 US presidential election he won.
"It's ridiculous to do something like that, " Trump told Fox News television, "but we're probably going to do something and answer some questions."
US political circles accuse Russia of interfering in the 2016 US presidential campaign, but Republicans, unlike Democrats, see the intervention as not affecting the results of the vote, which Trump narrowly won.
Moscow denies all such accusations, saying it is politicized and void and is not based on any evidence or proof.The US Justice Department has named former FBI director Robert Mueller as a special investigator to investigate allegations of Russia's intervention in the US election and the possible secret support of Trump's campaign during the election he won.
