WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump said on Friday that documents relating to a federal inquiry into Russian intervention would not be published immediately days after he issued an order to publish them. Trump attributed his decision to concerns from the US Justice Department that their publication would harm the investigation.
Trump told "Twitter" that the Inspector General of the ministry will examine the documents "urgently" and "will move quickly." "In the end, I can always keep me secret if it proves necessary," Trump said on Twitter.

Representatives of the Justice Department's Office of the Inspector-General did not yet respond to Reuters's request for comment.
Trump called for declassification of the documents on Monday in his latest attempt to question the investigation into the Russian intervention in the 2016 presidential election , which has dominated the political scene since he took power.
The move sparked sharp criticism from Democrats and others said that Trump abusing power and he is trying to politicize the investigation and its allies to protect the White House weeks before the midterm elections for Congress in November.
