The return of "coupons" to Iran raises fears of increased corruption

The Iranian parliament has approved the decision to restore the system [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/32377/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%AA %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D9%85%D9%88%D9%8A%D9%86%D9%8A%D8%A9]of ration cards[/url] known in the country as "coupons."
The ISNA news agency reported that the council agreed to allocate a budget of 14 billion dollars to provide commodities and medicines to citizens at the official currency rate.
According to the decision, the government will import or purchase these goods from local producers.
This is reminiscent of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, when the regime used to distribute food, tea, sugar, edible oil, fuel and even cigarettes, which caused the black market to spread throughout the country.
