The economic committee of the Yemeni government announced on Saturday the suspension of the import of oil derivatives from 3 Arab ports, including Iraq, in the framework of a process that it aims to regulate the import to Yemen.
The committee said in a statement that it was decided to stop granting the document of approval for the import and shipment of oil derivatives to the Yemeni ports for any tanker shipped from the ports of the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq, in addition to the port of Hamriyah in the Emirate of Sharjah.
She explained that this came in accordance with the procedures and controls and conditions stipulated by the executive mechanism to regulate and regulate the trade in oil derivatives, and improve the results of the application of the mechanism, and reduce the manipulation of specifications, and illegal trade in oil derivatives to Yemen.
The economic commission of the Yemeni government accepts or forbids the entry of oil derivatives vessels into the country, including areas under the control of the Huthis group, which receives the majority of fuel imported from abroad.
The Yemeni government had earlier approved the mechanism of control and regulation of trade in oil derivatives, aimed at reducing the smuggling of oil
