Iraq's ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed Nayef al-Dulaimi, called on Thursday, Egyptian companies and Egyptian investors to enter strongly in the Iraqi investment arena.
According to the Egyptian Web site, and reviewed by (Mawazine News), "Ahmed Nayef al-Dulaimi, Iraq's ambassador to Cairo and its permanent representative to the Arab League, met with Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Assem al-Jazzar, at the ministry's headquarters."
At the beginning of the meeting, al-Dulaimi conveyed greetings and appreciation to the Minister of Housing and Municipalities in Iraq, Benkien Rikani, and his wishes to Egypt and its people for their progress and prosperity.
The two sides discussed "the mechanism of preparation and coordination of the Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Joint Committee to be held in Baghdad during the coming period under the chairmanship of the prime ministers of the two countries, and in this context."
The Minister of Housing, Assem Al-Jazzar, to the "keenness of the government headed by Mustafa Madbouli, to hold this committee as soon as possible, where the joint committee is one of the most important mechanisms to activate cooperation between the two countries in many areas."
Al-Jazzar welcomed the "Iraqi proposal to hold a bilateral conference in Baghdad for Egyptian investors and specialized companies in the field of urban construction, which will open wider horizons for the development of investment frameworks between the two brotherly countries."
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation and exchange of expertise between Iraqi companies and investment companies in the field of infrastructure reconstruction in Egypt, and the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership that will benefit the two sides who have historical relations.
For his part, Dulaimi, said that "coordination is taking place with Baghdad to study the draft agreements and memorandums of understanding proposed by the Egyptian side as well as setting the deadline for the convening of the Supreme Committee scheduled in Baghdad."
Dulaimi said that "Iraq, which is currently enjoying security stability and has become an attractive arena for qualitative investment, especially in the areas of reconstruction of various infrastructure," calling on Egyptian companies and investors to "enter into the Iraqi investment arena through the establishment of major projects, which will provide many jobs In both countries. "
The two sides exchanged "souvenirs" and agreed to "continue this fruitful cooperation between the two brotherly countries."
At the end of the meeting, Minister Al-Jazzar congratulated Ambassador Dulaimi on his greetings to his counterpart Rikani, wishing Iraq and its people more prosperity and progress.
