Trade: 87% of the ration card items from the local product
The Ministry of Trade announced its 87% dependence on the national product for supplying [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/7215/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D9%85%D9%88%D9%8A%D9%86%D9%8A%D8%A9]ration card[/url] items in the 2019 supply plan, in light of the escalating level of local production of local wheat as well for sugar and edible oil supplied from national laboratories.
The [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/1398/%D9%88%D8%B2%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D8%AC%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A9]Ministry of Trade[/url] stated in a press statement: "The dependence rate on the national product has reached 87%, and that the remaining percentage is represented by the need for rice material due to the lack of self-sufficiency in the production of local rice."
The statement quoted the Minister of Trade, Muhammad Hashem Al-Ani, as saying: "The processing of sugar, edible oil and wheat, has completely depended on the national product, which is a real competitor of the foreign product, in light of the interest that the government program has given to support national industries and give them the most important role in the commercial contracts that the ministry undertakes to secure the vocabulary Food, which this year achieved advanced completion rates that differ from previous years in terms of processing, quality, and the number of processed meals that increased in flour by ten servings, edible oil and sugar by eight servings.
The minister added: "As for rice, we have given exceptional attention to its marketing campaign, and we hope to achieve an increase over the previous years."
