    Economy News - Baghdad
The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Haitham Al-Jubouri, affirmed the possibility of canceling the tax imposed on phone companies in next year's budget.
Al-Jubouri said in a statement to the official news agency, "Conscious", that "the tax was imposed on mobile phone companies according to the Financial Budget Law of 2019, and it is possible to cancel it if the budget law for the year 2020 reaches the House of Representatives."
Al-Jubouri added, "Its revenue difference must be given from somewhere else."
He stated that "if the financial budget law is not sent to the House of Representatives, then the tax imposed on mobile phone companies is canceled, because the provisions of the budget law expire at the end of the year, that is, on the thirty-first month of January."
A sales tax was imposed in the year 2015 to boost public treasury imports when oil prices fell globally and was ratified by the House of Representatives under the Federal Budget Law of 2015 and accordingly until now.
