A news report stated that an American special force was following the convoy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Commander Qassem Soleimani before his assassination, noting that this force pulled Soleimani's body away from the car.
And the American Fox News Channel reported in a report that “before the assassination of the Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani by air strike, while he was walking in his convoy outside Baghdad airport accompanied by the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, a special American force was following him from a distance of about half a mile” .
"When the strike was carried out, the force approached the cars that were burning, and then pulled the body of Soleimani away from the car to confirm his identity," he added, noting that "his property that was with him was photographed and included books and cash in addition to a pistol and a rifle."
The report continued, "The force took a picture of Soleimani's body immediately after his assassination, and was supposed to reach Soleimani's personal phone in order to obtain the data stored in it, but it turned out that it was completely destroyed."
And the report stressed that "within a short period of time, the American soldiers assessed the damages resulting from the attack directly, and took other pictures of the cars that were burning and photographing those inside."
The US State Department had announced that Iran was responsible for the deaths of 608 American soldiers, and that Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of about 20 percent of them during the years 2003-2011.
The deputy head of the crowd, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and the commander of the Quds Force, Major General Qassim Suleimani, were assassinated in a US raid near Baghdad airport, west of the capital.
