Constitutional Amendment Committee: Parliament agrees to reduce the number of members of Parliament

The Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Amendments affirmed that its members agreed on some proposals related to reducing the number of members of the House of Representatives for the new legislative session, and how to form the next government.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee Yusef Mohamed said, in a press statement: "We have a number of contentious issues that are still under discussion, leading to consensual amendments by all parties, according to the time limit set to end the work of the parliament within four months."
He added, "The Special Parliamentary Committee discussed a number of proposals regarding the constitutional amendments, and reached agreement on some of them, including reducing the number of members of the House of Representatives and how to form a government." Naming the Federal Court, to the Federal Supreme Constitutional Court.
He explained that "the subject of representation of Islamic jurisprudence experts and jurists within the members of the Federal Court is still under discussion within the committee."
